There was a treat in San Diego when the nightclub Voyeur delivered a rising artist for free. Based off a guestlist on FaceBook admittance was granted to those who wrote on their “wall” for free cover before 10:30. The act brought in a crowd that Voyeur may have been unprepared for. The mass was forming before the nightclub even opened. Some waited several hours to get into the club and regulars to the area said it’s the busiest they have ever seen it.

Well that’s because the artist was Thomas Gold.

Thomas Gold, coming off a big year with a very strong performance at the recent Nocturnal Wonderland, gave it his all that Friday at Voyeur. Gold surprised the crowd when he began his set around 11 pm and played until the lights came on at 2 am.

Gold was filled with a lot of energy for the entire night. This may have been because of the giant 20-foot wall of LED lights and screens with cutouts and ledges for go-go dancers to dance in. If not, it was definitely an eye pleaser for the crowd. Gold performed a very impressive set playing every hit single of his including his new Adele remix of “Someone Like You.” Tiesto, R3hab, Avicii and Afrojack were also thrown in throughout the night.

Even when the lights turned on and the cleaning crew began to clean, the crowd would not leave and demanded a well-deserved encore. They were granted their wish. Gold delivered several mashups with his encore, one including Calvin Harris’s “Awooga” with Justice’s “We Are Your Friends” where the entire crowd was signing along and sharing the good night.

Shortly after that the night ended. Gold finished signing autographs and the black doors to Voyeur were closed.
