It’s quite possible that the grandparents of the three members of Dance of Atoms might be Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo and Lene Lovich, Bernard Sumner from New Order and Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons, and let’s say…Martin Gore from Depeche Mode and Justine Frischmann from Elastica.

At least it sounds like that could be the case. These guys are such a great original 80’s synth slash 90’s electronica hybrid that they could have been popular in those decades up to and including the present. I love that they describe their music in part as being new wave. I lived through new wave and electronica and can tell you that if you like this like I do, you will dig Dance of Atoms.

Many viewed/view electronic music as less capable of conjuring emotion than the more organic means. Personally I feel that that possibility lies strictly in the hands of the artists. Passionate artists make passionate music…plugged in or not. These guys sound so sincere in their approach that it’s audible in their sound.

They also occasionally dress like superheroes…so there you go.

Find Dance of Atoms and add them to your arsenal of cool new things to check out.

Anyone who can work in the concept of nintendo into a song without it being cheesy must have some sort of genius in them.

So refreshing to see a site dedicated to people making great music whether or not it “fit” the popular brands. Dance of Atoms is such a fun lighthearted group of humans who cares passionately about their songs and their fans. From the looks of Magnetic Magazine this is a safe haven for these types of artists. Two thumbs up!
