Screaming-Females

Animal addicts, especially kittens, gore addicts, and simple rock and roll fanatics gather around the computer screen to have the eyes bulge in captivation from the music video by the New Jersey native punk band Screaming Females. “It All Means Nothing,” is the single off their fifth studio album Ugly set for release on April 3, 2012 via Don Giovanni Records. I wasn’t familiar with the band until scrolling through endless e-mails and stumble upon an e-mail about the band. The name Screaming Females stood out like a sore thumb and I couldn’t resist but to click. The outcome? Artistic magic to say the least, the music video made me go “WOW!” in my head (but in a positive way). I’ve never seen a music video conducted in this fashion, full of creativity with a morbid twist. The video begins with a handful of innocent, adorable, kittens playing around bassist King Mike and drummer Jarrett Dougherty but the video quickly takes a turn for the worse when the guys discover a pleasant surprise hidden in lead singer and guitarists Marissa Paternoster’s bedroom. Honestly, if you have a fairly weak stomach, I encourage you grab a plastic bag to sit by your side for the big moment. The video is simply amazing with its gore and twisted perspective but I loved it. It’s rare to watch an intriguing music video without half naked chicks, money thrown in the air, or a massive party.

Screaming Females will be coming to a town near you, gearing up for a three-month tour here in the States. So show your support, grab a ticket; check out the video and tour dates below. Enjoy!
