Claude VonStroke and his Dirtybird crew have been relentless with their recent releases. Between Eats Everything, French Fries and the Hatched compilation there has been nothing but heat coming out of the San Francisco based label’s cage. And while busy running the show, Mr. VonStroke’s new track, “Le Fantôme” has never lost sight of his ability, talent and personal development as an artist/producer.

“Le Fantôme” pairs Claude VonStroke with Jaws from dOP, marking the first time he has worked officially with a vocalist. Together they create what the label calls a “slab of modern funk.” The production on the track is simply top notch, complete with razor sharp snares, gum-rubber bass and a foggy church organ that never leaves. Jaw’s falsetto vocals hang on you like indulgent guilt, making you feel like you shouldn’t—when you know you probably should. The result is a track that punches you in the face with more love than Ike Turner.

There’s plenty of crossover appeal to this sound, but it is distinctly Dirtybird. You really can’t go wrong with this one. Get it on Beatport.
