Philosophy-of-Sound

Australian duo Philosophy of Sound returns with their second EP, which goes by the name of “Freedom, What For?” You may have caught Philosophy of Sound’s buzz last year with their debut “It’s Like That,” which ended up becoming a key track in sets from The Magician, Faze Action, Rory Phillips, Tiago, Social Disco Club and more. Now the two Melbourne producers slash DJs are ready to feed the dancefloor once again, and also your thoughts. One thing that I admire about these guys is their choice of writing conscious dance music lyrics that’s usually more meaningful than your typical party rock anthem. “Freedom, What For?” features remixes from Tronik Youth and A.N.D.Y., a new project of ex-Mustang member Andy Faisca. All of these are impressively solid, but my personal favorite will be the A.N.D.Y. one, which I’m excited to test out in the club as soon as possible. Discotexas has proven time after time to be a consistent and timeless label with every release sent to us, and it’s definitely clear that 2012 is bound to be another one filled with success if releases such as this are any sign.

You can buy the release now on Beatport, but you’ll have to wait until the 30th for it to become available on other outlets such as iTunes and Juno. Digital only.

Make sure to follow Philosophy of Sound on Facebook and Soundcloud, as well as Discotexas.
