Dennis "Citizen" Kane is a longtime friend, a pal. He’s one of the most musically knowledgeable folks I know. And when he can find the time in between running his Disques Sinthomme and Ghost Town imprints, or throwing loft parties with Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area fame), or holed up in his studio painting, he also happens to be a contributor to Magnetic.
Fashion magazine Flaunt recently caught up with Kane for a chat and if you have a few minutes we highly recommend having a read. Lots of things are discussed, but the crux of it revolves his painting (more often than not, they’re scathing critiques of power structures and the world’s consumerist impulses) and how all of Kane’s artistic output bleeds into one another.
BTW, you can see Kane DJ in Palm Springs on April 20th at “The Get Down” party.
