James Chapman (that’s MAPS) takes the original “Guacha,” a four minute multilayered and rhythmic composition by The Frikstailers (a tune that was already full of life to begin with), and turns it into seven minutes and twenty four seconds of pure energy. Yep, that's basically what we have right here:

The Frikstailers project comes from the mind of digital cumbia pioneers, Rafa Caivano (aka Ralf aka DJ Rafa Caivano) and Lisandro Sona (aka Sandro Lee, aka DJ Sandro de America). The highly acclaimed and eclectic leaders of the South American electronic music scene were recently cherry picked by Modeselektor to be apart of their Modeselektion Vol. 02 compilation (due out June 29) and are currently busily at work on their upcoming release “En Son de Paz.”

BTW, the original “Guacha” can be heard on the recently released Future Sounds of Buenos Aires compilation via Waxploitation/ZZK. Needless to say, we recommend you picking up the compilation. Do it here.
