BBC’s Radio 1Xtra did something special with Flux Pavilion’s latest single. Recently released on YouTube was a recorded session inside Maida Vale studios. The session included Flux Pavilion and Example performing “Daydreamer” (released today) on instruments other than a keyboard and a computer desktop.
Flux was on his 6-string guitar and a keyboard while Example poured his vocals into the tune. There was also a drummer that held the bassline as well as another keyboardist and an electronic drummer.
The video really shows how musically advanced Flux is. It is more than just Logic, Traktor and Ableton. Electronic music receives much criticism for not being “real music” but those statements are a slap to Flux’s face as well as other DJs that have the musical talent to play and perform with live instruments.
