Here’s a new video from Mexican Institute of Sound for their upcoming (July 10) tune “Mexico” via Nacional Records. With the presidential elections in Mexico, all the talk about drug violence, the White House’s recent “gun” conspiracy, the immigration debate heating up once again—hell, just the overall current political climate that is Mexico, this video is not only interesting, it comes at a precarious time in Mexican politics. We’re digging the song too. The video was directed by Jonas Cuaron (Children of Men), son of Alfonso Cuaron (Y tu mamá también, Harry Potter) and takes place in Mexico City’s legendary El Zócalo during massive youth demonstrations and features the controversial youth protest movement #Soy132 which has recently mobilized in support of democratization of the Mexican media and political system.
