This year has seen a number of powerful releases from house music mogul, Marco V. Guy obviously prides himself in the ability to combine the ever epic sounds of progressive house with the dancefloor jarring drops that are characteristic of electro house. Check “Solid Sounds,” “Analogtial,” “Scream” (with Marcel Woods) and “GOHF” for prime examples.
Striking a solid balance when combining the two genres is essential in developing a track that not only connects with the people, but can also modulate the energy of the crowd. Marco V’s most recent track “10 PM” uses wonderful and quirky electro undertones that move the track forward in a progressive manner. The substantial drum lines provide a groove that is easy to dance too. As the track takes a dramatic pause around the two-minute mark, we hear the slow rise of the leading chord progression that brings about a sense of euphoria and helps power the track into its melodic drop.
