AraabMUZIK

Afternoon EDM culture lovers, we got word from our friends at Mixjunkies that the Hip-Hop producer/ MPC mastermind known as  AraabMUZIK is teaming up with some pretty big names for the creation of his new album. In a recent interview with Billboard magazine,  AraabMuzik, also known as Abraham Orellana, stated that the album is set to release some time in 2013 and will include collaborations with Skrillex, Diplo, 12th Planet and more. In other words, he’s got some tasty stuff in the brew for all of his fans to look forward to. On a slightly less enthusiastic note, if you hadn’t already heard, AraabMuzik was recently called out by trance producer Adam K for the alleged plagiarism of his and Soha’s remix of Kaskade’s "4AM." The song, (AraabMuzik’s version) entitled "Steetz Tonight" was the calling card of his 2011 LP Electronic Dream. In a series of posts on his Facebook page, Adam K called out the producer for being “a fraud”:

why is araabMUZIK so fucking lame that he needs to literally steal other peoples songs and call them HIS OWN!!! What a loser. Learn how to write your own music OR learn how to credit people properly. Plagiarize much???

AraabUZIK’s Electronic Dream blended EDM samples from an abundance of artists into his own sound to create some nice tracks, but now he’s under fire for doing exactly that. Now, it is widely accepted in the EDM world that an artist can unofficially remix another’s work, even without their permission—as long as the remixer credits the original artist. So in AraabMUZIK’s case, the original artists were not credited, and it has been a constant argument that the original production can hardly be described as a remix in the first place. So that is what has gotten Adam K’s feathers so ruffled and what fueled his Facebook outburst. AraabMUZIK did not respond online, but the Adam K and Soha mix of Kaskade’s "4 AM" has since been taken down from his YouTube channel. What I’d like to know is what you think? Especially since the official Electronic Dream (Deluxe Edition) already had "Streetz Tonight" excised, and that Ultra’s latest banner singing is AraabMUZIK himself? Listen to the interviews, read the information and let me know what you think. And as for good old Abe? The entire situation will not be deterring him from releasing a new remix album set to be released on Ultra Records at the beginning of the year, along with other projects.

I also have a couple of projects that I’m working on in addition to my own album—compilations and remixes. I’m doing a remix for Zedd. I haven’t started it yet but I’m gonna be remixing the single to his new album that he just released.

And of course, we can't forget the earlier mentioned collabs with Skrillex, Diplo, 12th Planet and more.

Everybody is down already. My dream already came true with everyone that I want to work with. Its a good place to be in, production-wise!
