As we have highlighted, the EDM community is really coming together to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. There are numerous fundraisers, benefit shows, donation drives and volunteer opportunities. Add to that Lucent Encounter.
The newly opened Lucent Encounter takes place every Saturday at Times Square’s historic Liberty Theater. Tomorrow’s show will be special because there will be a food and coat drive for the Staten Island and Rockaway communities hit by Hurricane Sandy. Those who donate will not only be helping the needy, but will also receive a free glass of champagne as a thank you for their generosity.
DJ Serge Devant will be spinning the music tomorrow at Lucent Encounter. The show gets its name from the Lucent Dossier Experience: an avant-garde performance group and entertainment company. The LA-based troupe has performed at Coachella and Burning Man. Italian Vogue has referred to “Lucent Encounter” as a “darker Cirque De Soleil” as well as “the greatest show on earth.” The immersive audiovisual experience combines beats and beautiful performers and leaves patrons enthralled. Burlesque dancers, contortionists, sword swallowers, tribal orchestras, and last, but certainly not least, the DJ join forces to create an exotic wonderland.
To try something new and make a difference at the same time.
