Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk Fame Re-Issuing His Solo EP “Trax On Da Rocks” via Roule

Just came across this sweet bit of news via Fact magazine. Thomas Bangalter (of Daft Punk fame) is re-issuing his 1995 solo outing, “Trax On Da Rocks” via his Roule imprint. There are French house classic and then there are, well, five tracks of brilliance like these. Each one stands the test of time—from the slower electro-disco of “On da Rocks” (think “Around the World”) to the Cajmere-esque popping techno of “Roule Boule,” to the jungle breakbeats with jackin’ samples and furious cut-ups on “What to Do,” “Outrun,” the floor-filling anthem mixing Belgian hardcore sounds and some tough asst beats and “Ventura,” the biggest track on the EP—using the same formula as Stardust's “Music Sounds Better With You”—with disco filters galore.
