Contest: Flume, Para One and Dauwd at The Echoplex—Win Tickets

IHEARTCOMIX and FYF return with another stacked lineup for the month of March and as usual, we have some tickets for you. This marks the LA debut of rising star Flume, you know, the kid who found a music producing program in a cereal box and became a worldwide sensation. Well...something along those lines. And I don't even know what to tell you if you aren't familiar with Para One and Dauwd. Don't sleep on this!

Flume is a 20 year old beatmaker from Sydney. Taking a no-holds-barred attitude to music creation Flume takes inspiration from a wide variety of sources and scenes distilling his sound into a melodic bass heavy style of his own. International press has come from tastemaking sources including XLR8R (USA – 8.6/10 review), Lodown Magazine (UK – 8/10 review) & Electronic Beats (Germany). In Australia, Flume has received strong support from leading youth broadcaster Triple J (morning Host Zan Rowe naming "Sleepless" as her “Catch of The Day”) and community radio nationally, with high rotation on stations RRR, PBS, RTR, FBi and 2ser.

Jean-Baptiste de Laubier, aka Para One, has always been an hyperactive guy. He first started as no-nonsense hip-hop producer in the mid-Nineties, making beats for undeground rap artists. His recording studio was actually his one-room apartment in Southern Paris, where MCs were coming on a daily basis, crammed around a mic, an MPC and a battered convertible. At the turn of the century, he began producing his own instrumental tracks and soon got in touch with the TTC people, then at the core of the burgeoning French indie rap scene. This was the beginning of a new exploration in sound for him: from traditional rap, Para One switched to IDM and techno-infused beats, fizzing with 8-bits FX and deconstructed grooves.

Dauwd creates music with complexity, something most contemporary producers shy away from. Found sounds are thickly laden over multi-timbred synths. Vocal and instrumental stabs punctuate organic and evolving passages guided always by driving percussion and immaculate low-end production. His productions are full and intricate with a wealth of sounds building warm atmospheres that are unusual within dance music. Having worked with Ableton, Dauwd has developed a unique live show working with their new Push controller and live instrumentation.

So there you have it, three great artist under one roof for a night of merrymaking IHEARTCOMIX style. If you'd like to go, we've got a pair of tickets up for grabs. To enter just fill out the info below and sit back and wait for an email from us. Easy easy. We'll pick on lucky winner at random on March 22nd. Stay tuned and good luck.
