Review: Deorro “Elevation” Dim Mak Records

Formerly known to the world as Ton!c, West Covina’s Deorro has been releasing quality Dutch/electro influenced bangers for a minute now. "Stronger" begins the EP, the deep bass and progressive house plucks set the stage for a squeaky Dutch style drop that makes for a perfect summer festival track. Up next is "Red Lips," a steady electro track complete with growls and gritty wobbles…similar to the tracks released by Skrillex and James Egbert. "Cayendo," or “falling” in English, has an interesting Hispanic influence since the vocals are sung entirely in Spanish by featured vocalist Tess Marie. The track does a good job mixing a really mellow hook and a big high-pitched drop. "Elevated" is a tempo changing bass monster that has everything you want to get the adrenaline flowing. The rich atmosphere and lingering vocals in contrast to the filthy bass drop gives this song an instant likability factor. To finish the EP, "Hype" brings the hype with its fat ground-shaking Dutch style drop. This EP really showcases the talents of Deorro to make quality music of today’s popular EDM genres.

Released yesterday, Apr 23 via Dim Mak Records. Get it via iTunes, Beatport  and Spotify.
