Review: Rocket Number Nine "Deadly Buzz" via Smalltown Supersound Records—File Under Techno

Rocket Number Nine, a duo made up London brothers Tom and Ben page, have debuted their new single "Deadly Buzz" off their forthcoming EP, "MeYouWeYou." Coming in at just under five minutes in length, it's a black sci-fi track with roboticized linguistics, electron baseline, Ben's phaser-like synthesizers and a relentless attack by Tom on the drums. Not only is it a warped appeal to Rocket Number Nine's tribal history, but to the forward thinking sect of EDM listeners as well.

Their original, twisted future sound has gained enough attention to allow them to open for the likes of Radiohead and Four-Tet. "Deadly Buzz" is out today. Expect their full length album out July 30, 2013 via Smalltown Supersound Records.
