Scratch Live is dead. Serato, the New Zealand based software developer has recently announced it will be phasing out its game changing DJ software over the next couple of years. Don't worry though, the New Zealand software manufacture has matched the bad news with plenty of good news.
This fall, both Pioneer and Rane will be launching new four channel mixers that will support Serato DJ 1.5 DVS. Pioneer and Rane will be releasing the DJM-900 SRT and Sixty-Four respectively. In addition, Pioneer will be releasing the DDJ-SP1 Controller, which will allow DJs to access Serato DJ's features without a keyboard or mouse.
Most existing Rane hardware will support the change over, except the SL1 and TTM-57SL. Both of those units will be supported through 2015 with Serato Scratch Live, but will not be able to run Serato DJ.
