Sick Individuals are easily one of the most promising up-and-coming talents in today's EDM scene. We're not at all surprised that they were picked up by the likes of Axwell's recording label Axtone. The talented Dutch duo were only recently formed, but have already been embraced by a variety of labels like: Big Beat/Atlantic, Virgin, Axtone, Spinnin', Armada, Interscope, EMI and Size Records.
Sick Individuals are quickly racking up the accolades thanks to their two-track release of a remixed "Right Now" by David Guetta and Rihanna and "Drum Machine/Chase". The duo were picked up by Axwell shortly after for "I Am" their collaboration with vocalist-on-the-rise Taylr Renee. Axwell on Sick Individuals: "Sick individuals have been on my radar for quite some time and when I heard the track it was super nice, but needed a bit of work. I loved the vibe in the song - you know I always need to feel something and Taylrís vocal made me feel good on so many levels - so I signed it to my label, Axtone Records, and shortly after the guys suggested we finish the track together as a collaboration and I was happy to oblige!"

CONGRATS ON YOUR COLLABORATION WITH AXWELL ON "I AM"--THAT'S HUGE!
WHAT'S IT LIKE TO WORK WITH AXWELL?
Great! He's a very experienced producer and we have always looked up to his production skills, we've definitely learned a lot from him by working together.
WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN SOURCES FOR MUSIC INSPIRATION?
That can be anything and really depends on whatever mood were in. We listen to a lot of different kind of music, pop, jazz and classical music included :-)
Also movies and TV can be inspiring sometimes.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST FESTIVAL YOU EVER ATTENDED NOT AS SICK INDIVIDUALS, BUT AS A PARTICIPANTS?
It's a Dutch festival called 'Emporium' it's a nice festival were like to go to with a big group of friends.
HOW WAS THAT?
It was fantastic, Bingo Players were opening on that festival for there first time, the sound system was so fat, still remember having this good time during their set.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
We both studied composition and music production together. That's where we met each other and that's were Sick Individuals was born. We sent some of our tracks to local music labels back than and one of the best liked what we were doing so they gave us a remix opportunity. It's called 'Flute Test 2010' you should check it out.
IF YOU COULD WORK WITH ANY ARTIST ACROSS ANY GENRE, WHO WOULD IT BE?
We've just marked Axwell from our list of people we wanted to work with. We don't necessarily want to work with another famous artist, as along as we love what he or she is doing and they have quality and soul.
IS THERE A SPECIFIC GENRE OF MUSIC YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO OUTSIDE OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC WHEN YOU'RE NOT PLAYING?
We both like to listen to different music for example Jim likes listening to deep tech house and techno, groovy and relaxing beats. Ray likes to listen to classical music.
LAST QUESTION, WHAT'S NEXT FOR SICK INDIVIDUALS IN 2014?
There is a lot to come in 2014, we have some nice tracks coming for you guys on pretty nice labels. We're also working on new collaborations that we'll reveal really soon. We are excited!
