For those of you in EDM culture for a minute, you'll know that Diplo was part of this party throwing production crew called Hollertronix. Their remixes were legendary, and if you didn't have a Hollertronix vinyl as your Serato change-over wax, you were kinda blowing it.
The thing about these remixes is, while not all of them were "bangers", they were all super useful. If you were a DJ who knew what time it is, you'd drop a seemingly mellow Hollertronix track in your set, and the party would get way more live.

The reason why is they would switch up the vibe- smooth it out and/or chop it a bit. You can't go all night in 6th gear, no matter what your on (unless you're a bro).
And that's exactly what Diplo did on his remix of Avicii's "You Make Me". It's a chopped up, smoothed out version of the original that, if played right, can take the crowd exactly where it needs to be. So yeah, the drop might not be as big Brad and Becky (check the souncloud comments) may be looking for, but that doesn't mean the remix doesn't work.
