Don't Take The Pink Superman Pills! Police Scotland Issue A Warning

Police in Scotland have issued a warning against pink "Superman" ecstasy-like pills that have be circulating in the United Kingdom.   They have found, according to the BBC, that the pills to contain methoxyamphetamine (PMA).

PMA has previously been connected to a number of serious adverse reactions and fatalities.  In the United States this past September, the Electric Zoo Music Festival had to be shut down due to two fatalities, said to be caused by PMA.

As the precursors to create MDMA (commonly referred to as ecstasy or molly) have become less available due to law enforcement action, illicit drug manufacturers have began to use the more dangerous PMA compound.

The stimulant and euphoric effects of PMA are only slightly similar to that of MDMA, as PMA behaves more like an antidepressant.
