For those of us who didn’t make Holy Ship!!! or the BPM Festival, let’s hope this list of techno infused jams can tide us over until our next respective amazing show. I have selected some top notch tunes that will make you feel like you are on a vacation via headphones, and so feel free to slip on some sandals and make yourself a mai tai with a splash of techno.

1. “9T8” Dusky, School Records
I was lucky enough to see Dusky do a thing or two at Hard Day of the Dead, and now these guys are gearing up for their own Dusky Presents at FabricLive 4/14/14… This track is hot from the start, and then it has a softness towards the middle, simply delicious.
2. ”Another Re-Wire Marionette” Mathew Jonson, Crosstown Rebels
The Crosstown Rebels are gearing up for their Day Zero Festival on January 11th, and to get everyone ready for it, they have been releasing fresh tunes from their top talent. This one caught my ear, it’s got a great ominous tone, and has this cold heat that gets going with the build.
3. ”Muizenberg (The 2 Bears remix)” John Wizards, Planet Mu
Breaking our techno format a bit, just because, well, this song is fun! The steel drum takes you to a gorgeous beach, and then the Bears rework it perfectly to bring out that beauty that only their touch can achieve. It’ll break your heart a bit and keep you smiling.
4. ”What You Want (Jimmy Edgar Dub remix)” Boys Noize, Boysnoize Records
The Out of the Black remix album from Boys Noize drops at the beginning of February, but this tune had to be shared sooner. It’s dark and funky and ready to get you moving.
”5. Brazzavillage Dance Commando/Windshield Wiper law (Tricksi & dOP Bootleg)” Louisahhh!!!, Bromance
Her voice, her voice, it’s such a voice. It’s sexy and alluring, and it’s completely her own. The Bromance beauty Louisahhh!!! has a sound like no other, and she is on the rise, so get with it before she’s too cool for school.
6. “Naoko” Lorca, Naked Naked
Lorca’s debut release on Breach’s label is sure to get your 2014 off dancing on the right foot. He had quite the 2013 with is highly acclaimed If I Told You EP, so don’t hesitate when the Forgive Me Love & Naoko release drops in February, get on it! So smooth, he’s going right to the top!
7. “Almost Home (Agoria remix)” Moby, Little Idiot
With a perfectly slow start, this remix has the solid foundation of a musical master to build upon. Making good use of Damien Jurado’s vocals, and feeling almost surgical with the eloquent division of the original elements, it yields something beautful
8. “Phasing” Lucy, CLR
There is a certain pounding anxiety that initiates this song and at a certain point it moves towards a soothing rhythm, definitely a hypnotic success!
9.”Streets of Donngguan” I-ROBOTS, OPILEC MUSIC
The opening track to a diverse EP, it’s a song that does a great job at embodying a vibrant, thriving urban area. It’s got a fresh funky rhythm that makes great use of traditional instrumentation acnd ambient noise to ahieve a certain wave like quality that keeps it moving.
10. ”Technologic (Affani Booty Mix)” Daft Punk, Virgin
We already mentioned this tune once, but damn, we have to bring it up again. It leans a little on the house music side of things, but is stripped town enough to work in a techno set all the heavy hitters are loving it from Groove Armada to Claude VonStroke.
