The Detroit Electronic Music Festival, or DEMF for short, has cancelled their 2014 event, originally scheduled for 4th of July Weekend. The festival's website, demf.us, posted the above explanation today, citing limitations on the festival site plan due to rail line construction as well as other logistical issues causing the cancellation.
The original DEMF management announced plans in 2013 for the return of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival as a free-admission event at Campus Martius Park on Independence Day weekend, 2014, along with the paid-admission. The DEMF vows to return over the same weekend in 2015.
The Movement Electronic Music Festival, which is presented by Paxahau and operated independently of the DEFM, will continued as planned this Memorial Day at Hart Plaza.
