If Brisbane-based producer Sampology  has slipped under your radar, then get familiar with this absolute genius.  Sam creates these quirky, trippy, tropical hip-hop inspired dancehallelectronic productions, orchestrated to movie clips. In his latest remix of Cashmere Cat's "Wedding Bells", he synchronizes his remix to clips of a classic 90s Indian movie starring Bollywood’s legendary elitists, Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi. It's fresh, well-refined, and unique.

Sam has been touring North America and is currently in the final stretch. Last week he performed alongside fellow Aussies What So Not / Emoh Instead, Yolanda Be Cool, Plastic Plates, and more at the Sweat It Out Miami WMC showcase. He compiled a Miami tour diary for Magnetic that you can check out here.

1 mon - bags airport

Monday Night I flew into Miami from LA, I travel with everything I need to play either an audio visual show or a DJ set + as many clothes I can cram in on top.

2 - motez and jake

Although I had been lucky enough to spend 3 days on the ground in LA getting over my jet lag, these unlucky travelers who were on the same flight from LA to Miami were not as fortunate.  This is a photo of Motez and Dancespace/ Jake after a solid 20 + hours of transit, sexy!

3 - mon night

I got in pretty late to the accommodation in South Beach, where all the action is, it wasn't long before I found some out of control youths raving their little hearts out.

5 - bromance set times

After eating some pizza solo I linked up with a big group of  the Australian music crew to head to the Bromance party which was taking over both levels of Grand Central. I had been to the venue last year and knew that the space combined with this stellar line up would make for a great night.

6 - para one

Para One played a great set downstairs,

7 - canblaster

Canblaster played a great set upstairs. I got through most of the night before hitting a brick wall of last ditch jet lag and stumbled out with a few of the other OZ contingent. I called a taxi and when it came Busy P stole it...

8 - hotel view

I woke up to this view at South Beach, after doing a couple of media things to and sorting through my Serato I head to dinner with the Sweat It Out crew.

9 - sweat dinner

After playing a really fun DJ set at the Electric Pickle upstairs (I found out the next night that a guy who came up to give me props for playing a Djembadjemba joint was actually Mr Carmack) I head downstairs to see Rufus Du Sol play. I haven't got a picture of the full band because I couldn't help but notice and then stare at Jon's pretty unique leg dancing technique through the show... Here's some vines for

evidence.

11 - ape drums

I then bounced over to check out Craze and the crew and the Slowroast party about 10 blocks away, Craze destroyed it and Ape Drums who played after had seemingly endless amounts of self made weapons, both remixes and originals on some future dancehall shit.

12 twerk

Through the whole night there was a small twerkteam of girls booty shaking like I've never seen before, super impressive stuff for real.

13- pete smalltown and sabo

I tried to leave about 3:30 / 4am but on the stairs on the way out I ran into Smalltown Pete and Sabo from Moombahton Massive (who I'd followed for ages but I'd never met in person). Even though at that point all I wanted to do was eat pizza and then sleep, I stayed out for more drinks and then went with them to a bar called Blackbird where pretty much every female DJ was playing including Anna Lunoe, Nina LV, JUbilee, Louisahhhh, Star Eyes, Lauren Flaxx & Speakerfoxxx.. I think I got home around 5am.

14- sunny day street

The next day I walked around hungover, met up with the Serato team who had set up an apartment with equipment (sorry for not taking a photo). It was around 5pm when late lunching with Danny T and Mick from Sweat It Out I am 76% sure I saw Louis Theroux pass the window.

15 - louis and me

Here is a photo of what it might have looked like if I had the energy to chase Louis down and got a photo with him...

16- boys noize

Even though I felt like sleeping the last night I was in Miami I pushed through and went to the Hard event at Grand Central which had a killer lineup including Boys Noize and...

17 - emoh set

What So Not / Emoh Instead. It was actually a pretty rad moment to stand side stage watching Emoh own the stage for his set, good job bro.

18 outies

I got 2 hours sleep and then jumped on a plane to go play San Diego...
