New Electronic Music Chart: Top 10 Left Field, Breaks, & ELM

Hey party people! First off, I have to apologize for the lack of chart action last week. I was in Miami, and things definitely got a little pear shaped. There are lots of big announcements coming this week from the Fort Knox Five camp. We are incredibly stoked to be joining our good friends, Thievery Corporation, at their headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. We also just confirmed What The Festival in Oregon. We are really looking forward to a funk filled summer. Now to get you into the swing of spring with a few dance floor heaters, and some beautiful summer tunes.

THIEVERY CORPORATION – BATEAU ROUGE FEAT LOU LOU GHELICHKHANI
This is one of my favorite songs from the new Thievery Corporation album, Saudade, that dropped last week. The collection of songs on the album is fantastic. Bateau Rouge in particular is gorgeous. I have always been a huge fan of Lou Lou’s collaborations with Thievery Corporation. This one is in top form.

VOKAB KOMPANY – ME AGAINST ME FEAT. SOULEYE
This is an absolutely sick production by Stephan Jacobs of the new Vokab song Me Against Me featuring Souleye. The music and beats are so good. I need more stuff like this in my dj crate. Songs like this will crush the dance floor, and get the party started! Be on the lookout for a collab between Vokab Kompany and FK5.

NYNFUS CORPORATION – PUT EM UP (THE SPANK! REMIX)
I am a big fan of funky mid tempo party rocking beats. This is a jam that I have been rocking in my sets for some time. It is a stomper. This remix is great, but the whole package including remixes by Funk Ferret, Hong Kong Ping Pong, and Basement Freaks is slamming.

EPHNIKO – CANTO A LA VIDA (EMPRESARIOS REMIX)
Here is an excellent Empresarios remix of EPHNIKO’s tribute to Hector Lavoe. This is the perfect tune to get you ready for summertime. I am sure we will be dropping this on one of our upcoming Funk The World dj mixes. Keep an eye out for more big collabs between EPHNIKO and Empresarios.

A.SKILLZ – DEAD RINGER FEAT. KYMBERLEY KENNEDY
My good friend and Future Funk Godfather, A.Skillz, just dropped a pair of original productions. They are both huge! Dead Ringer featuring Kymberley Kennedy is a bomb. It features Adam’s patent drums and massive bass lines. This is a primetime funk burner at its finest! I can't wait to hear more of this amazing original work from A.Skillz.

O.D.B. – SHIMMY SHIMMY YA (WORTHY REMIX)
I have deep love for Worthy’s productions. He is old school and from the DC area. It definitely shows in his music. Some might think that this is out of the realm for music I am covering. My area of music is so broad, I can pretty much cover anything dope. Worthy’s remix of classic ODB is such a jam! You need this in your crate!

BOBBY C SOUND TV – LEARN FROM FRIENDS
Every time Bobby C drops an edit, remix, or original tune, I am on it immediately! Especially when he drops something with worldly influences. Learn From Friends is a Bhangra mid tempo banger with incredible bass lines. This one is another jam for our Funk The World series. Follow this guy on soundcloud. He is a music making machine!

STICKYBUDS & FEATURECAST – 3-6-9
This is what you get when Stickybuds has quick stopover in Featurecast’s studio while on tour in the UK. These guys can sit down for a few hours and rinse out an absolute monster funk banger. I can’t wait for either of these two heavyweights to have a quick stopover in DC at Fort Knox! We would make something nice!

CASTRO VS WHODINI – HOLD IT DOWN (JIMI NEEDLES FUNKED-UP MIX)
This chart is full of great mid tempo dance floor jams. I am such a fan of this tempo. Especially when it is done well. I have heard lots of great Jimi Needles remixes. He has done magic on a couple of FK5 tunes. This remix of Castro vs Whodini is sick. It will rock the place, and definitely get booties shaking!

TROPKILLAZ & PARTY FAVORS – DAT BOOTY
Anything the Tropkillaz’s touch is gold as far as I am concerned. Their tunes hit the 808 spot just right for me. They make super funky bass bangers that just destroy the dance floor. I am so stoked that the Tropkillaz are rocking Shambhala this year. It is going to be big bass bizness! Grab this free download, and get stoked!
