drum & bass Chart

This week features almost half & half remixes and original mixes. Creating a DnB track from scratch can be challenging for a lot of new producers, but I've heard that remixing a track to give it a more DnB vibe is one of the most fun challenges to accomplish - especially for someone who isn't used to the genre. On the other hand, for those seasoned veterans, it must feel as simple as getting back on a bike.

1. Muzzy, Give It To You feat. Sanna Hartfield
Muzzy is one of the few artists on Monstercat who are known exclusively for their DnB (others include Feint and Noisestorm). This first track is a really low liquid track that grooves extra hard. Sanna Hartfield provides the soft vocals that carry the track along. FREE DOWNLOAD.

2. Dextems, Uproar
Dextems presents an interesting blend of jump up and neuro styles with a jungle vibe. It keeps the track from becoming too stale and presents an interesting style for mixing.

3. Hamilton, Be There
You're likely familiar with Hamilton from RAM Records; if not, this track is as good an example as any. I hear a little Fred V & Grafix vibe in the rise, but the drop is all Hamilton. The use of empty space and the bouncy drums make this an epic track.

4. TC, Get Down Low (Lowered By Doctor Werewolf)
Get Down Low should be known to almost anyone thanks to its major play-out at shows and festivals. Doctor Werewolf took it upon himself to "lower" the track even more and give it some real festival vibes. If you'd like, enter your email HERE for a free download.

5. Tom Budin, Lucid (Blytz Dnb Remix)
Blytz is the winner of the Lucid remix contest that Tom Budin put on himself. Unbelievably chill vibes while still maintaining that classic drum & bass style.

6. DubRocca, Playin With My Mind (J Majik vs DubRocca Remix)
UK vibes are strong with this one, with similarities to Wilkinson & Danny Byrd. DubRocca teams up with J Majik to remix his own track and the outcome is superb.

7. Priority One, Ambition
I love the drum roll in the intro. There's a little similarity to Droptek - The Covenant (from last week's chart), but they sound coincidental at best. There's no chance of perjury here.

8. Skrillex, Ragga Bomb ft. Ragga Twins (DotEXE Bootleg Remix)
DotEXE gives Skrillex's 'Ragga Bomb' a huge facelift and turns it up to 11. He raises the pitch on that lead synth and turns it into a monster, mechanical synth growl that should tear up any good system. FREE DOWNLOAD.

9. Matrix & Futurebound, Don't Look Back feat. Tanya Lacey
Matrix & Futurebound have long been killing the scene, and this track is no exception. Utterly uplifting and extremely well produced, they have a hit record here. Though, it seems they are following in Sigma's and DJ Fresh's footsteps with a much more radio-friendly record.

10. Evol Intent & Ewun feat. Dieselboy - Midnight Express (TBT Mix)
Gigantor of Evol Intent has been throwing up #ThrowbackThursday mixes of old Evol Intent tracks for the past few months now. This week's was Midnight Express and with the help listed on this track, it's should be no surprise that it's made its way on to this list. Get the FREE DOWNLOAD HERE.
