Top Ten - 7/22

It is very rare that I would attempt to call out a tune of the year as early as July but my leader of the pack on the chart here stands a pretty good chance of earning that accolade here at Magnetic. In addition to the brilliant single by Jonas Rathsman on French Express we also have new tunes on the always amazing Innervisions, the always funky Hot Creations, and the ever reliable Visionquest.

1. “Skepparkrans” Jonas Rathsman, French Express

The mighty Jonas Rathsman along with Perseus were first unveiled to the world audience in early 2013 on the Future Stars Essential Mix. Shortly thereafter, Jonas Rathsman released the modern classic "Bringing Me Down" which propelled him to a new world class level that in turn has thrusted him into the global spotlight. Fast forward to earlier this month & Pete Tong included him on his Friday night show as his "Future Star". Now here he his with his brand new deep house beauty entitled "Skepperkrans" which is likely to be a major hit in Ibiza and clubs all over the world for the rest of the summer and beyond.

2. “Favourite Addiction” Digitaria ft Clarian, Hot Creations

The Brazilian duo Digitaria's lead single from their new album "Night Falls Again" which is out now on Hot Creations.

3. “Rumble” Nu Tone, Innervisions

Innervisions just released the 6th edition of their "Secret Weapons" series and my favorite from the bunch is from a mysterious newcomer who goes by the name of Nu Tone. Could this be the same Nu Tone of Drum & Bass fame?

4. “Your Darkness” Benoit & Sergio, Visionquest Records

Visionquest's latest comes from Benoit & Sergio who helped kick off the label back in 2011. "Your Darkness" is a funky groover that develops into a melodically pleasing tune that will keep you dancing while your mind drifts away.

5. “Won't Look Back” Duke Dumont, EMI

The latest from The Duke himself and it's out now exclusively on Beatport.

6. “Stand Up” Alexander Technique & Michael Moog ft. Inaya Day, Brobot Records

More big room house music on the chart this week that stays safely away from any electro house cheese. On this one, Alexander Technique & Michael Moog team up & the songstress Inaya Day lends her already legendary voice for an infectious peak time track.

7. “For Dance" Chris Groovejey, Stereo Bass Records

Columbian born Chris Groovejey's "For Dance EP" was just released yesterday through Stereo Bass Records and it is available for sale exclusively on Beatport. "For Dance" is one tech-house stormer that should never be played at a low volume.

8. "Enjoy Music (Sonny Fodera Remix)" Reboot, Defected Records

Sonny Fodera's current take on Reboot's absolutely massive "Enjoy Music" from 2009 is featured here on his own remix collection entitled "Deep, Down, & Defected" off of Defected. Look out for his Deep, Down, & Defected mix compilation which is expected to be released next month on August 17th.

9. “The Way” Adrian, sinnmusik*

Adrian samples Janet Jackson in the best way possible on this chunky house tune which is out next Monday on sinnmusik*

10. “Deep Swagger" Ian Rubert, Green Mono Music Studio

This oddly beautiful tune entitled "Deep Swagger" is out new exclusively for sale through Beatport.
