New Electronic Music- Top 10 Electro/Progressive Songs- 8/21

It's been an epic summer of new electronic music. And now, Labor Day and Electric Zoo are in my crosshairs! I suggest you start pregaming NOW for the summer's final festivals. KURA's John Christian takes the #1 spot this week and will literally take you to the "Next Level." Once you've hit that next level, watch out for the "Desert Storm" brought on by newcomers Till and Ace and Tiësto's surprise detour into Melbourne house.

1. "Next Level" (KURA Remix) John Christian, Protocol Recordings

Just stumbled upon this insane remix of the already solid "Next Level" on SoundCloud today. KURA weaves a consuming melody in the buildup that envelops your ears after the drop, with nice touches from the original. Out now.

2. "Desert Storm" Dave Till & Tyler Ace, Ones To Watch Records

As the label's name says, Dave Till and Tyler Ace are definitely ones to watch after releasing this amazing banger! Definitely some unique, stimulating synths being used here, and the lead melody is turbo-charged. Out soon.

3. "Gold Skies" (Tiësto Remix) Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS ft Aleesia, Spinnin' Records

I was just on vacation on the beaches of Florida playing the original version of this track on repeat - the vocals are truly inspiring. In a surprise move, Tiësto tries his hand at Melbourne bounce to give "Gold Skies" an unexpected new spark. Out September 8th.

4. "We Are The Ones" twoloud feat. Christian Burns, Musical Freedom

Welcome to the twoloud show! Never losing steam, this dynamic duo takes their amazing production talent and applies it to a bright progressive anthem accented by Christian Burn's voice. Out September 15th.

5. "One Smile" (Walden Remix) Dada Life, So Much Dada

Almost passed this one over, but when I heard the incredible melodic progression in the second drop that continues after the bass drops out, I knew this Walden remix had landed a solid spot on this week's chart. Out now.

6. "Horus" Flatdisk, Revealed Recordings

Flatdisk continues to impress with a beautiful yet epic progression in the intro melody. The synths after the drop are heavy-hitting and never fail to keep the energy at peak levels. Out August 22nd.

7. "Faded" (Dzeko & Torres Remix) ZHU, Spinnin' Records

I instantly recognized the beautiful vocals from ZHU's originals, a remix is definitely warranted here. Masters of the progressive remix sound, Dzeko & Torres, create an aggressive build that still produces a pleasing melodic drop. Out September 1st.

8. "Footprints" (Kaaze Remix) Tiēsto

I don't know about you, but I always put on "Footprints" whenever I'm on a plane about to take off on a new adventure. Recent Tiësto collaborator Kaaze has given "Footprints" a bigger room drop, while isolating and accentuating the original vocals. Available as a free download via the SoundCloud stream below.

9. "Lost & Found" Sick Individuals, Revealed Recordings

Dutch duo Sick Individuals, having put themselves on the map with a white-hot electro sound, bring us a refreshing progressive sound on their new track, complete with soothing vocals. I expect their solid output on Revealed to continue. Out August 25th.

10. "READY!" Deorro vs. MAKJ

Deorro and MAKJ are worthy opponents in this free track whose drop is dominated by Deorro's signature sound. The track is further amped up by plenty of familiar vocal drops both old school and new. Available as a free download via the SoundCloud stream below.
