Top 10 - Adriatique

The house music spectrum is a vast one and this week is no exception thanks to the variety of house music out there being released this week. There are bits of techno, disco, pop, & soul all over the chart so open your mind and have a listen to the beauty of what variety house music has to offer.

1. “Space Knights” Adriatique, CityFox

Adriatique are probably the hottest duo in house music for 2014 as they have already enjoyed two underground smashes earlier this year both from the Midnight Walking EP, “Midnight Walking” & “Rolling Stone”. Now here they are with the ever so epic “Space Knights” off of the Zurich-based record label & event Cityfox which the tune itself was inspired by.

2. “Seeing Is Believing (Original Mix)” Eli & Fur featuring Shadow Child, Defected Records

Most of the world was exposed to this massive deep house banger back in March when Shadow Child used it as one of his closing tracks on the Essential Mix. “Seeing Is Believing” now gets to see the light of day along with a couple of remixes from Davidian and Manik. Out next Monday on Defected Records.

3. “Premonition” Maya Jane Coles, fabric

Maya Jane Coles’ latest release here is an exclusive vinyl only one for fabric members but that doesn’t mean you can’t get it if you’re not a member. She premiered it on her very recently lauded fabric 75 mix which is out now and available for purchase.

4. “Mountain Top” Kraak & Smaak, Spinnin’ Deep

Back In 1979, a fellow by the name of Eddy Grant penned a reggae tune called “Walking on Sunshine”. Three years later, Rockers Revenge re-made the song into a disco tune that would be sampled a hundred times over for years to come. Now in 2014, the Dutch trio, Kraak & Smaak take their turn at sampling it on “Mountain Top” and turn out what is arguably one of the best uses of the sample ever! Out now exclusively on Beatport.

5. “Holdin’ On (The Shapeshifters Stripped Remix)” Lovebirds feat. Lisa Shaw, Defected Records

We have another tune on the chart this week from the magnificent Defected camp and this time it’s from German producer Lovebirds with the house diva herself Lisa Shaw. UK house music gurus, The Shapeshifters step in on remixing duties and the results are nothing less than amazing.

6. “Caravan” Horatio & Gruia, VIVa MUSiC

The latest EP from Viva Music entitled “Cradle In The Wind” is a solid four-tracker from Horatio & Gruia. All four on the EP stand impressively on their own but it’s “Caravan” that we feel is the strongest of the bunch.

7. “Bad Girls” Joyce Muniz & Kiki, Exploited

Exploited have been having quite the year and they are not slowing down anytime soon. Here we have one of their flagship artists, Joyce Muniz and her Warriors single. On the b-side is “Bad Girls” which is the one we love and it is already gaining support from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, & Citizen.

8. “N’Jaz” Sinecdotiq, Something Else

Something Else Records prides itself on 90’s throwback garage style house music and here it is executed oh so well once again with an insanely infectious bass-line on Sinecdotiq’s “N’Jaz”.

9. “Free The Visa” Davide Squillace & Philip Bader, This & That

This & That label boss Davide Squillace & Philip Bader team up on this tech-house club-infused two tracker after their collaborative effort in 2012 for “Wild Things”.

10. “Happiness Juice" Munk, Exploited

For our second Exploited tune on the chart we leave you with a video from Munk for “Happiness Juice”. It’s a summery, quasi-disco tune with a bit of 80’s infused pop that includes a fun vocal by the wonderful Mona Lazette.
