Patrick Morgan from New York City has pleaded guilty to a narcotics charge in a prosecution that arose after an overdose death at Electric Zoo 2013. The charge was one count of conspiring to distribute narcotics.

Allegedly, Morgan sold MDMA to Jeffrey Russ, who later died at 2013's Electric Zoo Festival. Russ' death, and that of another attendee, Olivia Rotondo, lead the cancellation of the last day of the three day event.

Authorities also say Morgan had previously sold pills to other people, and that another passed them around the event.

Prosecutors and a defense lawyer agreed to a stipulated sentencing guideline range. It is believed that Morgan will spend about a year in prison, the charges carry a maximum sentence of about 20 years.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 13.
