Sordid-top10

Here I am again with way too much good music to fit into one top ten chart, so I am guaranteeing you nothing but the best of the best here with these ten tracks.  For my top tune, Maceo Plex remixes Royksopp and it's probably the best remix of the year in my book. In addition, there's a DJ Tennis & Mind Against remix of Trentemoller, a new Maya Jane Coles remix, a new one on Suara, & for the final spot I have a new music video from Hercules & Love Affair!   Press play & enjoy.

1. “Sordid Affair (Maceo Plex Remix)” Röyksopp, Dog Triumph

If you think you've heard the best music of 2014, think again because Maceo Plex has a couple of goodies left in his bag for us.  One is being put out on Adam Beyer's unstoppable Drumcode imprint next week and the other being his breathtaking remix of Röyksopp's "Sordid Affair" as demonstrated here as my top pick of the the week, if not the year!

2. “Jimmy” Anja Schneider, Mobilee

Anja Schneider has pulled off quite the year most notably with her Mobilee daytime residency in Ibiza along with the critical success of her record label.  To finish off the year, she will leave us with the genre-defying "Jimmy" which she first premiered on her Essential Mix just a couple of months ago.

3. “The Unhappy Song” Teenage Mutants, Suara

Suara is shaping out to be the most reliable label in house music as of late and Teenage Mutants' most recent Unhappy EP is no exception.  This EP is out now exclusively for sale on Beatport.

4. “Ghost  (Maya Jane Coles Remix)” The Acid, Infectious Records

Maya Jane Coles puts her signature touch on The Acid's "Ghost", which is taken from their debut LP entitled "Limina"

5. “Always Something Better (DJ Tennis & Mind Against Remix)” Trentemøller, Poker Flat Recordings

The 4th edition of Poker Flat's 15 year anniversary series sees Life & Death's DJ Tennis get together with the Italian duo, Mind Against in order to remix the Trentemøller beauty from 2006,  "Always Something Better".

6. “Photon (WP Dub)" Deetron, Character

Deetron's sophomore release on his Character imprint is out now exclusively for sale on Beatport.

7. “Make It Real” Agoria, Hotflush

Agoria makes his Hotflush debut with The Helice EP and on the flip-side of this debut is a deep affair by the name of "Make It Real".

8. “How Many Times (Andhim Remix)” Elderbrook, Black Butter Records

The German duo Andhim appear to have an early Winter hit on their hands with their remix of Elderbrook's "How Many Times".

9. “House Record” Steve Lawler, Hot Creations

Viva Music head-honcho, Steve Lawler puts the finishing touches on Hot Creations' 2014 catalog with an 80s style house jacker called "House Record"
