So it’s well into January and you still haven’t decided what to do with Grandma’s holiday check yet? You could go down to the bar and blow it on some overpriced cocktails with your mooch friends OR you could hit the record store and buy some vinyl and while you are at it, add Dust & Grooves to that stack. This epic 436 page coffee table book is a vinyl nerds dream and will really give you some perspective on the hardcore collectors out there and inspire you as well. Chalked full of amazing photos by Eilon Paz (Author) this is an intimate look through the lens at some of the worlds most notable record collectors, both well known and unknown.

The book is a mix of eye candy and quotes from the collectors themselves posing with their collections in the first segment and the second half features full length interviews with some of the collectors, including Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina, Egon, The Gaslamp Killer, etc.

Be warned, this book can easily lead you down the rabbit hole of wanting to collect or at the very least to your local record store, flee market or garage sale in search of black gold. This really is just an incredible piece of work and one well worth picking up if you are a music lover.

It’s one of those rare books you can just keep going back to find inspiration to dig a little deeper in your musical adventures. Now in its second edition Dust and Grooves has added a new interview with the legendary DJ/Drummer Questlove from the Roots.
