deadmau5 Announced For JUNO Awards Via Snowmobile

deadmau5 will be representing the homeland for Canada's big music award show March 14-15th. The JUNO Awards just announced him in a very Canadian way as a performer...

Since the awards are for Canadian musical achievements, Sam Smith won't dominate the ballots. deadmau5 himself will "compete" for Best Artist and Electronic Album of the Year.

Other electronic artists on the ballots include Chromeo (Group of the Year), Adventure Club (Breakthrough Group of the Year), Zeds Dead (Breakthrough Group of the Year, Video of the Year) and Kiesza (Single of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Dance Recording of the Year, Video of the Year).

So you know... Chromeo and Adventure Club are from Montreal, Zeds Dead and deadmau5 are from Toronto, and Kiesza is from Calgary.

Dance Recording of the Year nominees are as follows:
Adventure Club - "Calling All Heroes"
Chromeo - "White Women"
Glenn Morrison - "Goodbye"
Kiesza - "Sound of a Woman"
Trevor Guthrie - "Soundwave"

Electronic Album of the Year nominees are as follows:
Caribou - Our Love
deadmau5 - While (1<2)
Lydia Ainsworth - Right From Real
Plastikman - EX
Ryan Hemsworth - Alone For the First Time

From what we can tell, it's sure to be a big improvement over the Grammys, albeit a cold one.
