Hello again from the Mile High City! For this installment of my Denver dispatch, I would like to introduce you to ten tracks (in no particular order) that represent what my city is all about.

Sweaty, dirty, funky, mind-expanding music is what the people crave and Denver always delivers. From hometown heroes to international headliners, the Denver electronic community is always looking for new ways to express itself and, at the same time, stay true to its roots of the love of all things bass. So sit back and enjoy a little taste of what this gorgeous city loves and has to offer!

"Funk Party"
GRiZ
All Good Rcords
GRiZ has been a Denver go to from the beginning. One of the singles off of his upcoming release Say It Loud,"Funk Party", is sure to bring you back to the early days of the GRiZ sound; fat horns, a funky bass melody and keys over a couple hard drops and you’re ready for one funky party.

"My Head is a Jungle (MK Remix)"
Wankelmut & Emma Louise
Positiva
I had the pleasure of seeing MK perform recently at Club Vinyl in Denver after missing him the last couple years and I was not disappointed. He dropped this track in the middle of his set and those sultry vocals and amazing piano melody got me all hot and bothered.

"Exodus"
The Black Madonna
Stripped & Chewed
This resident and Creative Director of Smart Bar in Chicago absolutely blew me away when she played at Deep Club’s 2 Year Anniversary Party this past February in Denver. I was lost in the music for the entirety of her 3 hour set. Check out this gem and explore some of her mixes on her Soundcloud profile. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

"Ghettos & Gardens(Claude Von Stroke Remix)"
Justin Martin
dirtybird Records
Dirtybird helmsman and beard aficionado Claude Von Stroke has graced Denver with some amazing live sets in the past couple years. In fact, he just played Beta Nightclub this past Saturday and blew the roof off the place! This remix of a fellow Dirtybird label mate, Justin Martin, showcases what the label is all about - rolling basslines and booty poppin' tech-house. Can't help but get dirty to some Dirtybird!

"You’re The One For Me (Option4 Remix)"
Great Good Fine OK
Night Supply
One of my favorite people and producers out of Denver at the moment, Option4 has one of the best stage presence I have ever seen. Never stops moving and grooving to the beat and his music is sure to make you do the same. He also heads the Denver label Night Supply, which is easily my favorite label in the city. Talent exudes from everyone involved in this team. Check them out and enjoy this feel-good track while you’re at it!

"Drive Me Crazy"
Kaytranada featuring Vic Mensa
XL Recordings
In the past 2 years, Kaytranada has risen to become one of the most sought after Hip Hop and R&B producers in the game. The way he is able to bridge the gap between EDM and Hip Hop/R&B is impeccable and has led many single-track listeners to expand their horizons. He recently played in Denver at the 1Up on Colfax to a sold out crowd and this track featuring Vic Mensa shows why we love him!

"This Life"
Need & Necessity
Night Supply
These 2 gorgeous gents are another one of Denver’s up and coming artists that must be recognized. Also hailing from the Night Supply label, these guys have been playing parties with everyone from The New Deal to J. Phlip to Eats Everything. Coming off a recent trip to Detroit, Need & Necessity just dropped their first Beatport distributed single “So Listen” this week and it has definitely got me moving . Here's an original mix of theirs to get you familiar and check out their new single on Beatport!

3

"Forever(Pt.II)"
Snakehips Feat. Kaleem Taylor
Hailing from London, this duo have made some phenomenal original mixes in the last year. Their single “Days With You” featuring Sinead Harnett has over 2 million plays on Soundcloud. This new single “Forever(Pt.II)” is on track to do the same and has only been around a week. Real excited to see them play Denver May 20th at the 1Up Colfax to what should be a sold out crowd and get my snake hips moving!

"Like You Used To"
Kidnap Kid
Black Butter Records
I am a huge fan of Black Butter Records and Kidnap Kid is one of the reasons I am currently obsessed. I, along with hundreds of others, had the pleasure of witnessing his live set at the inaugural Cloak & Dagger Music Fest in Denver last September and loved his style. He is scheduled to play April 11th with label mates My Nu Leng and Wayward at Club Vinyl and I can’t wait to witness the glory.

"Vermillion"
Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons
Crosstown Rebels
Coming off his upcoming album with The Ancient Moons, "Vermillion" is a blend of so much greatness its hard to describe it other than simply amazing. I absolutely cannot wait to see him perform this track and so much more when he headlines Altitude Anonymous at Copper Mountain this coming June.

Bonus Mix! Sam Warren Official
Instead of a playlist, I thought I'd add a mix that I can't stop jamming to. Denver based Sam Warren has some insanely great musical tastes and this mix is just a small sampling of it. Check out his Soundcloud profile and enjoy this stellar mix while you're at it!

As always, thanks for reading and I'll see you on the dance floor!
