Mysteryland - Bethel Woods, New York  2014

Another successful Coachella has passed and now we turn our attention to Memorial Day Weekend, which has every music enthusiast anxiously awaiting Mysteryland, an all around artistic and cultural experience taking place for its second consecutive year on the sacred land of Bethel Woods.

In 1969 400,000 fans celebrated their appreciation of music at Woodstock. Coming off the Summer of Love, the event was a pivotal turning point for the *hippie* movement. A new sense of style erupted - although many chose no clothing - that represented peace, love and happiness through self expression.

These trends have survived the passing decades, thriving at the most famous music festivals on both the East and West coasts; but look closely, their origins will forever be traced to the hippies dancing at Bethel Woods in 1969. The then-and-now; a comparison of Coachella, Mysteryland and Woodstock. West Coast Desert and East Coast Hippie.

The Mysteryland USA festival will take place on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, with the Holy Ground campgrounds opening on Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25 with exclusive activities for campers.

On Friday, May 22, the first unofficial day of the festival kicks off with three stages: The Camping Circus , which houses the official Friday night opening party where the day time party will bring Fool’s Gold boss A-Trak , Miami-based globetrotters GTA , and Brazilian bass duo Tropkillaz to the newly expanded Camping Circus stage from 2 p.m. until sunset.

The night time party kicks off with techno legend Richie Hawtin, deep house and techno visionary Maceo Plex, and Ovum Recordings head Josh Wink will keep campers dancing until 2 a.m. Also, the BangOn! NYCbus will return, expanded to three art cars which will include an after-hours silent disco.

New for 2015, the Pineapple Paradise stage hosted by New York locals Brunch Bounce and The Breakfast Club morning parties hosted by Saved By The 90’s .

Holy Ground camping’s official 2015 theme of “Camp DoYaWannaDance” is inspired by old school summer camps and classic games (giant drinking Jenga, Connect Four and beer pong), hamster ball soccer, a 20-foot inflatable slide, both morning Deep House Yoga and AcroYoga classes.
