FLOOD MAGAZINE'S Floodfest

AD: It’s always an adventure when you trek out to the Corona Yacht Club in Thermal. This year for weekend one, Flood Magazine took over the venue (no yachts but a lake surrounded by beautiful giant Palm Trees), bringing performances from some of our favorites, Com Truise, Warpaint and Mystery Skulls.

RK: Also couldn't miss moonlighting photographer Jasmine Safaeian who ditched the camera and rocked the decks...only to be followed up by the electro-rockin' sounds of Fire in the Hamptons...and then there was the lovely barefoot chanteuse Gavin Turek with her melodically soothing vocals...

AD: With FloodFest's many open bars at every corner of the club, intoxication was guaranteed, but the fest quickly turned into a gigantic dance party when secret special guests CHROMEO hit the decks and threw down with a DJ set that forced the Coachella goers to bounce so hard it felt like the dance floor dock could break open and drop everyone into the pond. Needless to say, we were feeling the after effects of all of the complimentary libations and beats well into Friday morning – but in the best possible of ways!

KH: Rumor had it that Diplo & Tiesto were going to play the lower stage but after arriving we heard that Tiesto only showed up to party...no matter because Chromeo kept delivering the goods, track after track after track!

RK: Stylish beauties are always bountiful during Coachella weekend and the pretty girls and boys flooded the yacht club in numbers on this Fauxchella kick off evening...

RK: Down at the lower stage where the yummy Grilled Cheese Truck was stationed, the Brownies & Lemonade DJ’s were dropping that DOPE trap shit that was non-existent on the other stages.  As we waited in line for cheesy delicious sustenance, we could see that the night was coming to the close by the herd of party people shuffling for the exit...and with grilled cheese goodness in one hand and a PBR in the other, we too made our way to the VIP parking lot (thanks Flood!) to yet begin another long journey back to our hotel... many thanks go to Flood Magazine for the epic kick-off Fest!
