Big day for fans of Jamie xx. The London based producer recently announced that his second album In Colour will be dropping on June 1st via XL Recordings and Young Turks, and now we have more information regarding the tour that will be surrounding that release.
Starting in his hometown on June 5th, Jamie will then travel to North America for a series of dates across Canada and the US, hitting major cities like Vancouver, San Francisco, and a stop at Terminal 5 in New York. After that it's more European dates, touching down in the UK again and then heading to Germany, Russia, and a few others. Beyond tour dates, you can also witness him at festivals around the world like Hard Summer, Parklife, Pitchfork, and Sonar.
You can view the full list of tour dates below, and beyond that we've also got a new video from the album for the previously released track "Gosh." The first track on In Colour is a dark introductory beat complete with rugged drums and chopped samples, tossing in sporadic vocals and an overall haunting ambiance throughout.
It's no club anthem, but we have a feeling will serve as a proper way to build into whatever Jamie has cooked up on the rest of the release. The video is highly cinematic, taking viewers on a journey throughout different planets in space from both distant and more up close views. Imagination and exploration are key themes, and it's definitely a trip to watch.
The album is currently available for pre-order, and will feature guest appearances from a diverse cast of musicians including Young Thug, Popcaan, Oliver Smith, and Romy Madley Croft of The xx. It would be an understatement to say we are counting down the days.
