Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music trio consisting of three house disc jockeys and producers, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008. This group placed at number ten on the DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ Poll 2011 and has been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music." Angello and Ingrosso met as children in Stockholm while Axwell did not become a member until years later when they contacted him after a chance meeting. The members of the Swedish group initially teamed up in the mid-2000s, when they toured together as DJs and collaborated from time to time on one another's productions. Eric Prydz was also a member of the group for awhile. Axwell, Angello, and Ingrosso's breakout performance as Swedish House Mafia came in August 2008, when they played the Main Room at Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, Spain as part of Radio 1's Essential Mix Ibiza. The first production that was released by Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso was "Get Dumb" in 2007. It was produced with Laidback Luke. In 2009, they released "Leave The World Behind" with Laidback Luke and Deborah Cox and in 2010, Swedish House Mafia signed a record deal with UMG's Polydor Records. They released their first official single, "One (Your Name)," under the name Swedish House Mafia on Beatport in May 2010, where it charted at number seven in the UK Singles Chart. It also achieved international success as a Top Ten hit in Sweden, The Netherlands, and Belgium, and landed on the group's debut album, 2010's Until One. The next single, "Miami 2 Ibiza," featuring Tinie Tempah, charted at number four in the UK Chart in September 2010. Both tracks were taken from the album Until One, a collection of productions and remixes by Swedish House Mafia as a group and as individuals. It has achieved a BPI Gold Sales award in the UK. In 2012 the group members announced they were breaking up and returning to their solo careers, although only after their farewell One Last Tour.
