It’s that time of year again in which we welcome in the (supposedly) sunny month of August with an English festival.  Set in the historic building of Hatfield House, one might expect afternoon tea and cream scones elegantly lain out on the meticulously trimmed lawns.  Obviously this is complete rubbish.

Eastern Electrics Festival is a one day event that celebrates underground house and techno.  With an impressive line-up of DJ’s spanning across seven stages it’s going to be the perfect way to spend this Saturday.  There will be spaces to chill and laze in the sunshine and basically have a break when it becomes overwhelming and you need to take a minute to breathe- we all need to now and again so don’t feel ashamed.

The line-up features the likes of Seth Troxler, Two Bears, Joris Voorn, Delano Smith and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinasours.  There is also two after-parties to choose from because nobody should go home at 11pm when the festival finishes because that would just be sad wouldn’t it.  Think heavy techno, classic house and summer vibes- what else could you ever want?

Whilst you’re grabbing the last of the tickets have a look at the top 5 DJ’s to see at Eastern Electrics.

Boddika

Boddika needs no introduction.  Impressive set after impressive set has made him one of the leading voices in techno.  With industrial sounds and a rib shattering bass, he is an unmissable edition to any line-up.  You’ll be able to catch him on the Skreamizm Stage.

Midland

Midland is another big gun in the underground music scene.  I recently saw one of his sets in which he dropped Safi- his contribution to the third Autonomous Africa release- and everyone went mental.  Since then I make sure I see him at whatever festival I’m at.  Seriously good sets every time.  You’ll be able to find him at Skreamizm

Bella Sarris

This. Girl. Can. DJ. She hasn’t been on the scene for as long as some of the others on the line-up but she is making a name for herself regardless.  Originating from sunny Sydney, Bella Sarris’s house sets are always heavy with a subtle undertone of funk.  You can see her set on the Tini and the Gang stage

Floor Plan/ Robert Hood

Floor Plan, the brain child of Robert Hood, has collaborated, remixed, produced and anything else you can think of when it comes to creating great music.  Having been the sound track to plenty of after sessions in the past year this DJ, whatever his aliases, will drop the good stuff thick and fast.

Jamie Jones

Last but by no means least, is the headlining act, Jamie Jones.  True veteran of electronic music, this Welsh born DJ will be the one you have to go home having seen.  So if you’ve lazed on the grass that much that you’ve seen no one else, then make sure you head over to the Main Stage because this head of Hot Creations and current Ibiza legend is unmissable.

Check out the current line-up because it’s pretty sick and make sure you get your ticket now because I'd hate to be you refreshing your computer screen in hope they haven't sold out.  Right then guys, I’ll see you Saturday!
