Diplo continues to own charts this week as he reaches the top 10 at Top 40 radio with two songs. Major Lazer’s “Lean On” with DJ Snake and Mø is at #9 and Jack Ü’s “Where Are Ü Now” with Justin Bieber is at #10. Notably, "Lean On" marks the first time an independent release has reached the top 10 in more than two years, and has also been certified double platinum in Australia, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden; Platinum in the U.K., Canada, and the Netherlands and Gold in the U.S., Finland, Italy, and Spain. Additionally, "Lean On" sits at #1 globally on Spotify for the eighth week in a row with over 697 million plays worldwide.
Major Lazer’s Peace Is The Mission and Jack Ü’s Skrillex & Diplo Present: Jack Ü both reached #1 on the Electronic/Dance Album chart and Peace Is The Mission debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #12, the group’s highest chart position to date.
Earlier today, Major Lazer released a tropical cover of Frank Ocean's "Lost", and Madonna announcing Diplo as an opener for her Rebel Heart World Tour. He also recently announced a collaboration with Skrillex and Big Sean. From where we're sitting, it doesn't look like the slowdown of dance music, and Diplo's brand in particular, will happen anytime soon.
