What’s up Magnetic Magazine readers! Labor Day is around the corner and Burning Man is underway. If you aren’t out on the Playa, Nocturnal Festival is also coming up this weekend and the line-up will not disappoint you. In fact, the line up is pretty well rounded with DJs from all over the proverbial “map”. I have to name a few in no particular order, Adam Beyer, W&W, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, the world famous Beat Junkies, Z-Trip, Craze, Datsik, and Dusky. To see turntablists like the Beat Junkies, Z-Trip, and Craze on the bill is a welcome sight. However, I digress. You are all here for techno so here it is!

Top 10 Techno Chart - 9/2/15

Listen to the previous top 10 techno tracks of the week.

10

“Jupiter”
Abyssal Chaos
[Advanced]
“Jupiter” is one of six planets interpreted through techno and soundscapes by Abyssal Chaos on his latest Space EP. This is a dark and powerful rolling beat that does the largest planet in our solar system justice.

9

“Damage”
Gaist
[Clandestine Recordings]
Gaist is an up and coming techno dou from the U.K. made up of Stu Allan and Adam Wagstaff. They are already getting support from heavy hitters Richie Hawtin and Claude VonStroke and with tracks like “Damage” you can see why. It has super high energy and dark vibes that will hypnotize the dancefloor. Be on the lookout for more quality releases from these guys.

8

“Kickinamophone”
Hugo
[Gruuv Recordings]
Hugo is back with another release on Gruuv. This time he is making an appearance on the fifth installment of the 5 Years of Gruuv EPs. This is a bright and sunny tech house track perfect for a pool party. The massive variety of meticulously arranged stabs, vocal samples, and percussive elements keep this tune fresh and full of fun energy.

7

“Tacos”
Matt Minimal
[Evolution]
This is the second track from Matt Minimal’s latest release, Metronome EP, on the Evolution imprint. The pulsing synth gives this track a great consistent energy while the layers of stabs and percussion tickle your eardrums.

6

“Just Jack”
Pirupa and Ninho
[Snatch! Records]
Pirupa is back on the techno chart but this time he has teamed up with recurring partner in crime, Ninho, to deliver this single on the latest Snatch! OFF! – Raw Cuts Vol. 6 compilation. A looping vocal takes the spotlight while pumping bass pushes you to jack your body.

5

“The Hiding Of The Beast”
Modul Art
[Minus]
Out now on techno giant Richie Hawtin’s Minus label, “The Hiding Of The Beast” is one of four varied tracks from Modul Art’s Anubis EP. This is one of the more delicate tracks with an airy synth melody and dubbed out stabs but the bass line gives it a nice gritty foundation.

4

“Synbells”
Matt Sassari
[FREE DOWNLOAD]
To thank all of his fans for helping him reach the 30,000 likes milestone on Facebook, Matt Sassari has released this bumpin’ beat for free! “Synbells” is dark and heavy with tolling bells signaling the drop of a no-holds-barred tech groove.

3

“Underverse feat Mandel Turner (Adam Port Remix)”
Terranova
[Kompakt]
“Underverse” was one of the standout tracks from Terranova’s recent LP, Restless. The original is a low key grooving deep house track with fantastic vocals from Mandel Turner. Now Adam Port has put his spin on it for Restless Remixe 1, the first remix package to be released for the album. Port has boosted the energy and given the track more of a tech house vibe with more warped vocals, zip zappy synth stabs, and heavier grooving bass. These vocals are so dope I am sure they will be sampled and popping up all over the place soon, especially since they included the acapella exclusively on the vinyl release.

2

“My Love Aside”
Matt Lange
[mau5trap]
L.A.’s Matt Lange is back on the chart with another release on Mau5trap. After hearing “My Love Aside” it is clear why Lange has grabbed the attention of the Mau5. In my opinion, this track could have been on Deadmau5’s Random Album Title (That’s a good thing). Though it starts out gentle, with the airy leads and delicate melody, the energy gradually builds stronger and stronger as the track progresses. It has an innocence but also an edge to it because of the rough vocal sample.

1

“Samsa”
Rafa Barrios and Rob Hes
[Tronic]
Rafa Barrios has teamed up with Rob Hes for this hard hitting single as a part of the Tronic Secret Weapons EP. This high energy shuffling beat has a funky latin groove and a massive breakdown and build that will have crowds screaming for the drop, and Barrios and Hes deliver it. The climbing bass line and melody keep the energy growing and growing, making this a definite dancefloor weapon.

Below is the playlist for your enjoyment. Until next time, thank you for reading!
