The group's visual designer, Jamie Hewlett, has stated that we'll be graced with a new Gorillaz LP in 2016.

Speaking with DIY, Hewlett expressed that they are in the early stages of the creative process and didn't want to reveal too much.

"I don't want to say too much about it, but I'm at that phase of experimentation. What I try not to do when I'm working in this creative period, the cooking of the mess, is go to other peoples' exhibitions and look at other peoples' work. I close my eyes, and don't want to know what anyone else is doing. Doing that has kind of ruined the creative process for me in the past, and I don't want to let that happen again."

Gorillaz haven't released any new material since 2010's Plastic Beach and fans have been eager to get news on what's next. Damon Albarn, the bands vocalist and song-writer, is slated to perform at Madison Square Garden with his band Blur on October 23rd. Tickets are still available here.
