T & Sugah tease us with the Top 5 Liquicity acts you need to know
T and Sugah

Philippe & Robin getting amongst.

Liquicity started as a modest YouTube channel in 2008 and is currently one the most prolific drum and bass communities and labels around. Dutch dnb duo, T & Sugah, are one of the incredibly talented artists who rep the label. We got lucky enough to chat with them in the leadup to their UK debut at Liquicity in London and get the skinny on what not to miss out on come November 7th!

You two - this will be your debut in the UK! Have you visited before? What are you most looking forward to doing and seeing while you’re here?

This is indeed the first time we play in the UK, so naturally we’re really excited about this one. It means a lot to us to perform in London, since it's basically the capital of the entire DNB scene! We have visited the UK before (York), but just as  tourists at that time.

First of al,l we wanna see all the cliché tourist attractions, like Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge etc. I mean you can’t visit London without the mandatory selfie at the Big Ben! Apart from this, we want to drop by some offices of record labels and of course spend quite some time in the pub with the other Liquicity artists (since many of us arrive one day earlier than the actual event).

Who are you most looking forward to catching at the Brixton gig? Will you have a chance to get amongst the crowd for a jam?

For us it is hard to choose amongst all these incredible Liquicity artists, many of these people are close friends and we had some crazy times together! However if we have to choose: the sets that we are really looking forward to are those of Cyantific and Maduk. Cyantific is a madman behind those decks, we witnessed this a couple of weeks ago at Spektrum XL (in Holland), and Maduk always get the entire crowd hyped right from the start with his energetic sets! Next to these guys we also highly recommend checking out: NCT, Cartoon and Priority One. These lads know how to work a crowd!

Speaking about partying: we will definitely get in the crowd to party a bit. What other way is there to truly experience the party!

Are you pair coming to the Drum and Bass Arena awards this year? Put your own votes in yet? Fingers crossed for the best newcomer award!

At the moment we’re not sure, it all depends on whether we will be nominated. And of course we have voted, like every dnb loving person should!

Finally, before you count down some tracks for us - we have to ask...what is the beverage of choice? Tea and sugar or something a little more dangerous?

Well, in the studio we actually drink tea quite often. However if you have a look at our rider you can see that there is a bottle of vodka on there -  because at parties we prefer some alcohol in our tea!

T & Sugah's Top 5 tunes to lap up ahead of Liquicity*
*in no particular order

"Change"
 Maduk

This track is just pure class, it always gives us goosebumps.
A pure melodic masterpiece!

"City Needs Sleep"
Priority One & TwoThirds

This one soon became a classic Liquicity anthem, it has an incredibly uplifting intro which builds up to an awesome (unexpected) drop!

"Whatever I Do"
Cartoon feat. Kóstja

A big tune from the new guys on the block called:Cartoon! Especially like the chopped vocals and the build up on this one, pure beauty!

"Freedom"
NCT ft. Charlotte Haining

Our fellow countryman and close friends from NCT totally nailed it with this summer anthem! The chords work beautifully with the vocals from Charlotte.

"Unreal"
T & Sugah Ft. Ayve

This is our latest release and it’s part of the incredible “Alchemy” compilation out now on Liquicity Records. Actually, we recommend listening to the entire Alchemy album, it is truly amazing!
