Well if you thought you were going to wake up on Monday with the media saturated with a bunch of played out Halloween news, think again. Yesterday two of the biggest names in dance music, deadmau5 and Skrillex, hashed it out in a classic social media battle. This kind of argument is an interesting concept in itself. Two people expressing their distaste for each other in a series of posts that are 120 characters or less. Who will get the last word? Which person will get the most support? What will be the outcome? It's usually just a bunch of crap to laugh at and this one is particularly interesting given the history involved.

deadmau5 is indeed the one who gave Skrillex his big break back in 2009, but recently the two have had a falling out. The argument seemed to spawn from deadmau5 who said in a seemingly sarcastic post, "Yeah. My dreams and goals consist of rolling around on iohawks making dubstep with biebs all fuckin day. Nailed it."  This was obviously directed at Skrillex who recently collaborated with Bieber and he didn't take kindly the mau5's remarks.

After seeing this post, Skrillex decided to go after how much of a negative person deadmau5 is. This is pretty much common knowledge at this point and not anything new, but it sparked a lengthy battle between the two producers that is fairly entertaining.

Both of these artists would not be where they are now if they didn't have some production skill in their bag of tricks. deadmau5 seems to think that producing with Justin Bieber is an easy way out, or is it just a smart business play, we would have to say both are valid assumptions.

In the end, deadmau5 accurately summed up the situation.

These twitter battles are just free press for the artists involved, but Skrillex and deadmau5 hardly need to worry about that with their current status in the music industry. Anyway, happy Monday everyone.
