The sounds of old school Drum and Bass and cinematic ambience dominate this week's chart
Keys N Krates

This week I was feeling some really bass heavy jams with some nostalgic beats and production. Keys N Krates come hard with a really fresh take on the Amen break in their latest track "U Already Know" an amalgamation of old school Drum and Bass and bottom heavy drops.

BROKEN's "Leda Stray Armed & Dangerous" is also feeling old school with it's samples, breaks and time stretches, this is a monster raga style breaks track.

FaltyDL chills it out a little bit with the track "Visceral" which is contemporary downtempo at it's best. It's cinematic and orchestral with clever beats that keep your attention the entire way through.

Shigeto's "City Dweller" out on Ghostly is a trippy ambient work that is a melodic disarray of jazzy sounds, out of step drums and a dash of melancholy. The song is the perfect soundtrack for a morning walk through cold gray NYC.

Last but not least is Clark's "Omni Vignette" which reminded me a lot of Nils Frahm or early Eno. The simply melody with the natural reverb is all you really need, it's beautiful.
