How many interviews have you read where the artist states how Hip-Hop from the '90s was the first kind of music they got into and influenced them to start producing? I know I've read a lot. In many ways, the '90s set the foundation for most of the music that's being produced today. It was a time when the culture was still in it's raw form and when you listen back, you really hear the vibe of a generation.

Where today's Hip-Hop/Rap is filled with artists who mumble words that are indiscernible, Hip-Hop from the '90s is filled with a unique flow and a sense of poetry when it came down to the verse. I don't know if I'm just a sucker for the classics, but you really can't beat it.

Para One recently mixed a set on Rinse FR that was completely filled with the best tracks from '90s Hip-Hop. It's a nostalgic collection that brings back those emotions you may have felt when you heard these tracks for the first time in your adolescence. I can vividly remember back to the time when I discovered tracks by Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C., Smiff-N-Wessun, Showbiz & AG, Jeru The Damaja, Onyx, there's really too many to mention and Para One includes all of them.

So, if your looking for a blast from the past. dive head first into this mix and get lost in the old school selection.
