The Swedish underground master Jonas Rathsman talks about his new Elements series and party, as well as his latest release on Diynamic.

Jonas Rathsman is an underground master, plain and simple. He's risen through the ranks with the blessings of Pete Tong and Disclosure alike. In 2016, Jonas Rathsman is blasting himself that much further into the dance music cosmos, only elevating his talent to greater heights with a new mix series and sizzling releases.

His recently begun Elements series consists of a bi-monthly mix series curated by Jonas Rathsman featuring exclusive & unreleased music from underground gods and titans alike. In its IV episode it certainly continues its magic and it is sure to enamor. Oh, and there are companion parties too, so you know Jonas is going all out.

In addition to his Elements series, Jonas also recently talked to us about his latest release on Solomun's Diynamic label in their Four to the Floor series, "Cobalt".

How do you describe the essence of Jonas Rathsman?

Gin fueled melodic dance floor moments from Sweden.

Your 'Cobalt' release has arrived and it's arrived as a success! How do you feel about 'Cobalt'?

It's been a pleasure working with Solomun and the DIYNAMIC crew on this one – such a great team there! Cobalt is a track I had been testing and tweaking for a while and it always worked so well in my sets. I’m really happy to finally share it, and its great to see such a positive reactions. Cobalt is part of an EP (Four To The Floor Part 6) and I have to say, the whole EP is sick! Check it out!

Can you tell me a bit more about how this track came about? What did you hope to achieve with it or what were you aiming for?

I like to make records that suits my sets, this is one of those tracks that I’ve made from inspiration and ideas that I get from touring a lot. I wanted to give it a big moment in the breakdown but make sure it packed some energy when it in full flow – it works really well in the clubs, and that is what I ultimately aimed for.

What else do you have in store for 2016? More touring, albums?

Plenty more touring! I came out to Miami for MMW to do a bunch of shows, I was especially looking forward to playing Damian Lazarus’ ‘Get Lost’ party on the Saturday of the week, then off to LA and San Fran to play some shows there.

At the end of March I am launching my ELEMENTS events series in the UK, starting at Sub Club in Glasgow on my birthday, YEY! That is going to be one hell of a party.

I will be announcing my next release soon also! Excited about this track and can’t wait for you to hear it.

What is one deep thought you have been having lately?

How many hours have I lost waiting in airports? I probably don’t want to know the answer, to be honest.
