As supergroups go, this one might be the most intriguing of all time. Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk have joined forces with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real to form a new band called Prophets of Rage, according to Billboard.

Along with the announcement of the groups formation comes news of their first live appearance, set to take place at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3, which is set to be followed by a performance at Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles.

It was thought that Rage Against The Machine would be announcing their own reunion in the coming months, so the news of this supergroup is indeed surprising. “There’s a lot more to it,” they expressed to Rolling Stone.“There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of exciting news to be revealed.”

A Prophets of Rage tour is said to be a possibility. Stay tune for more information coming soon.
