Violence erupted last night in New York City as shots were fired at a T.I. concert, leaving three injured and one dead, according to the New York Times.

The concert was taking place at Irving Plaza in Union Square, a heavily populated and busy location within the city. Shots were heard inside the venue, which sent patrons in attendance rushing towards the exits.

“Right when he was about to go on I heard two gunshots, and right after, there was a stampede,” said Ayo Fagbemi, a 21-year-old student at UPenn. “There were at least three rounds, but after the second one was when people started running.”

Although the reasons for the shooting are still unknown and no arrests have been made, witnesses say that a pair of fights broke out backstage. The first fight actually spilled out onto the stage and the second fight occurred on the floor. After the second fight, shots were fired, but it's unclear how many.

The victims of the shooting consist of three men and one woman, one of the men, aged 33, was killed, while a 27-year-old male was able to make his way to the hospital on his own.
