If you are a music lover and enjoy going to live shows, you absolutely need to see JMSN. I had the pleasure of seeing him when he visited Toronto last week and I was totally blown away. I have been a fan of his since the Love & Pain era back in 2013 and since then, he has grown immensely as a musician, performer and writer.

The sold out show in Toronto was a clear example of the difference between a good show and a great show. For someone relatively unknown, JMSN got the crowd into it right from the start. He understands it's all about having fun and getting people to dance, which is exactly what happened. Flawlessly transitioning tracks from his last 2 albums, JMSN created a groove that stuck until the encore. That being said, his band was a big factor in creating this amazing atmosphere. There was a lot of improv and everyone got to shine, including JMSN who can shred on guitar.

One of the major highlights were when he performed 'Funk Outta Here' off his newly released album It Is. The crowd was chanting “get the fuck outta here with that bullshit” for about 5 minutes straight (no lie). The entirety of the song probably lasted about 8 minutes with all the musician solos. However, for me the highlight was when he performed 'Bout It' as his last song, one of my personal favorite’s off of the Blue album. It was an ideal way to end the set with everyone singing along. There were new fans and old fans alike at this show but everyone, and I mean everyone knew “Bout It.”

If you’re looking for something fun and inexpensive to do this summer, I could not stress enough how lively and exciting it is to be in a room with JMSN. He’ll be touring almost the entirety of the US and larger cities in Europe as well. Also, keep in mind that he' gone through a make-over. He no longer looks like 30 year old Jesus, more like a younger Jesse Pinkman. To be honest, I didn’t even recognize him till he started singing.

If this wasn't enough to get you out to a future JMSN show, here are 5 more reason why you don't want to miss one of the best live shows of the year.
