"Today is the worst possible reminder of how homophobia, transphobia and misogyny live in the same universe." - The Black Madonna

June 12, 2016 will forever be remembered as a dark day in our nation's history as a deadly nightclub shooting in Orlando left at least 50 dead and more than 50 injured.

The heinous terror attack was carried out by one man, Omar Mateen, who stormed a gay nightclub with an assault rifle, handgun, and “some sort of device”, and opened fire on the people inside. He was later killed by authorities following a hostage situation.

With emotions running high, many in the music industry took the time to remind us that we need to band together in times like these.

The Black Madonna reminded us that there is a lot of hatred present in our society, while Moby bashed Donald Trump, who seemed to be making the situation more about his political campaign. Others like Tommie Sunshine and Annie Mac aimed their responses at the nation's gun laws, which need to be reformed in order to help prevent such acts like this from taking place. You can read more responses below.

Our sympathies go out to everyone affected by this hateful act of violence, including the families and friends of those who were in attendance.
